Hazel adopted and returned because she was being aggressive towards the kids, dogs, and cats in the household. This is uncharacteristic of her as she has not shown any aggression while here at the shelter. Her original owner had stated that she was dog and kid friendly, so we are unsure what could have caused this. We highly recommend that the future adopter foster before committing to her if they have children or pets. She was a nervous girl when she first came in, but has settled into the shelter routine. She melts with gentle talk and soft pets. She has been an outdoor dog for since she was a puppy and will likely need a refresher course when introduced to the indoors. When left alone loose in the house, she will get into the trash. Once she feels comfortable, she does love playing and she knows how to fetch. She has been a very easy walker on a leash and does tend towards a slow, meandering walk rather than a brisk walk. Hazel is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.
